Apawtment Cat House

Apawtment gives a cat somewhere to retreat without shutting them in a box. The frame is European birch plywood veneered in solid ash and finished with oil and wax, so it reads as a piece of furniture rather than pet gear, and the opening stays generous enough that a cat can keep one eye on the room.

Inside there is a soft plush rug that takes the edge off a wooden floor, and a blackboard on the front for a name. It is light enough to move between rooms as the sun does.

Halcyon Home was started in 2011 by Marc Pujol and Christina Scheper-Prat, who design and make every piece themselves at their own studio in Taradell, just outside Barcelona. Precision machining meets hand finishing, so each piece is built to last rather than to a price.

Made responsibly

The wood is birch plywood with an FSC certified ash veneer, the soft surfaces are one hundred percent recycled polypropylene, and the finish is a simple oil and wax. Raw materials come from certified suppliers, and both the products and their packaging are recyclable.
