The scratching panel completes a Parete wall. It is a vertical oak-framed element faced in natural wool felt that mounts alongside the steps, giving a cat a proper upright surface to stretch against and keep its claws in shape. Placed on the climbing route, it catches the scratching urge where the play already happens.
The wool felt takes real use, and the oak veneer keeps it looking like part of the room. Vacuum the felt and treat stains with dry foam, no water.
A German design house
MiaCara is a family run German label from Herzogenaurach, started by Sebastian and Barbara Zweig. It began with their Labrador, Cara, who turned her nose up at a cheap foam cushion, and grew into a full design house that launched its cat line in 2015. The credo is form follows function, innovate rather than imitate, so every piece is drawn to work first and then to sit quietly in a room.
Made in Europe, made to last
Most of the range is manufactured in Germany and Europe from hand picked suppliers, under fair conditions and short transport routes. MiaCara leans on recycled materials wherever it can: felt spun from recycled PET bottles, recycled aluminium, recycled foam, and fabric made from upcycled ocean plastic through the Seaqual initiative. Packaging is FSC certified or recycled, and the workshop has run on certified green electricity since 2021.
Award winning design
MiaCara's work has been recognised with design awards, among them a German Design Award and a Red Dot, and each piece is credited to the studio or designer behind it.
Plenty of cats want to scratch upright, and folding that into the Parete wall keeps them off the door frame. The oak and wool make a scratcher you can leave on show.
