Handcrafted in Devon from sustainably sourced English oak and natural wicker, the Willow Nook is built around the organic curves of a solid oak trunk. A high wicker basket, lined with sheepskin, sits at the top, with a mid-level platform below.
Pick from three basket sizes, for one cat, two cats, or a Maine Coon, and three basket styles: armchair, cave, or taper. The cave version stands taller at 142cm against the standard 112cm. Two sheepskin colors are offered, cream or natural brown.
A tool-free 12mm sisal post handles the scratching and detaches for re-sisaling. At around 26kg it stays firmly in place, and it arrives fully assembled.

Sophisticated Scratch is a small family workshop in Devon, England, at work since 2017. Each piece is cut and built to order by hand from sustainable English oak, so the wait is a little longer than a mass-market post and no two are quite alike.
Why oak and sisal
Solid oak gives the weight that keeps a scratcher from tipping when a cat throws itself at it, and the sisal rope is the texture cats actually want to work. The natural oak limbs mean the grain and shape vary from one to the next, which is the point.
