Finished in rich medium oak, with the main sculptural limb bolted to a heavy base carrying a black resin detail. At 18.2kg it holds steady, and it stands 110cm with a 50 by 38cm sheepskin sleeping area at the top.
Two integrated steps are topped with handcrafted sisal spirals, and a built-in 12mm sisal scratcher covers a 30 by 37cm area with the re-sisal service behind it. Choose your sheepskin and a matching Rodney Rat or Fluff Ball toy. It ships assembled in a wooden crate within about fourteen days.

Sophisticated Scratch is a small family workshop in Devon, England, at work since 2017. Each piece is cut and built to order by hand from sustainable English oak, so the wait is a little longer than a mass-market post and no two are quite alike.
Why oak and sisal
Solid oak gives the weight that keeps a scratcher from tipping when a cat throws itself at it, and the sisal rope is the texture cats actually want to work. The natural oak limbs mean the grain and shape vary from one to the next, which is the point.
