These are natural, undyed sheepskins sourced from the West Country, with a thick dense pile. The cat-tree size, around 50 by 50cm with a velcro back, fixes onto cat trees and inside wicker baskets; the full size, around 106 by 75cm, works as a floor or chair rug that a cat will happily claim.
Colors run from natural brown, white, and rare breed to Icelandic white, black, and old spot. The wool is temperature regulating and machine washable, so it suits a cat bed that gets daily use.

Sophisticated Scratch is a small family workshop in Devon, England, at work since 2017. Each piece is cut and built to order by hand from sustainable English oak, so the wait is a little longer than a mass-market post and no two are quite alike.
Why oak and sisal
Solid oak gives the weight that keeps a scratcher from tipping when a cat throws itself at it, and the sisal rope is the texture cats actually want to work. The natural oak limbs mean the grain and shape vary from one to the next, which is the point.
