Kilimanjaro is the pared-back elevated feeder, the same comfortable raised height as the Gaudi but with a plain, quiet stand rather than the fretwork. The removable bowl lifts out of its cylinder for filling and washing, and it works for food or water alike.

It is wheel-thrown refractory stoneware, glazed satin white, food safe and safe in the dishwasher and microwave, built to be used every day for years.

Specifications

  • Material: Wheel-thrown refractory stoneware, satin white glaze, food safe
  • Dimensions: 4.3 in high x 5.1 in mouth diameter x 6.9 in base diameter (11 x 13 x 17.5 cm)
  • Made in: Spain, by hand

Made by hand, one piece at a time

Sara Monge is a ceramic artist working in Spain, and every piece here leaves her studio by her own hands. The clay is modeled, then fired at high temperature more than once, until stoneware reaches the hardness and stability it needs to live in a home for years. Because each piece is made individually, small variations from one to the next are part of the work, not a flaw in it.

Function that becomes form

These are objects to be used and to be looked at. A cave is a real shelter a cat disappears into and a sculpture that holds its own beside the furniture. A bowl lifts a meal off the floor and reads as a considered object on the counter. The standard is the same throughout, cat pieces made to the level of studio ceramics.

Why we chose this

For a raised ceramic feeder that reads as calm and minimal, Kilimanjaro is the plainer companion to the Gaudi, and just as well made.
