Devon Oak and Sisal Cat Scratcher
A single oak branch bolted to a natural wood-slice base and wrapped in sisal, so your cat scratches on solid timber instead of your carpet.
Final/Total cost shown at checkout

Sophisticated Scratch cut this from solid Devon oak, keeping the branch's own shape so no two posts look the same. The wood-slice base shows off the natural grain and rings under a protective finish.
It stands 72cm on a base of 47 by 39cm and weighs 7.1kg, which keeps it steady when a cat leans in and pulls. The natural sisal rope gives claws a coarse surface to work, which helps keep them healthy and steers scratching away from your furniture.
Made to order by the husband-and-wife workshop in Devon, so allow extra time over a mass-produced post. You can add a handmade Rodney Rat or Fluff Ball toy if you want one.

Made in Devon
Sophisticated Scratch is a small family workshop in Devon, England, at work since 2017. Each piece is cut and built to order by hand from sustainable English oak, so the wait is a little longer than a mass-market post and no two are quite alike.
Why oak and sisal
Solid oak gives the weight that keeps a scratcher from tipping when a cat throws itself at it, and the sisal rope is the texture cats actually want to work. The natural oak limbs mean the grain and shape vary from one to the next, which is the point.
