Carved from sustainably sourced solid natural oak in a medium tone, with an aged natural limb and a heavy live-edge base. At 12.8kg it stays rooted when several cats use it.
The post wears heavy-duty 12mm sisal and releases without tools for re-sisaling, so the frame can last for years. Add a handmade Rodney Rat or Fluff Ball in cream or brown if you like.

Made in Devon
Sophisticated Scratch is a small family workshop in Devon, England, at work since 2017. Each piece is cut and built to order by hand from sustainable English oak, so the wait is a little longer than a mass-market post and no two are quite alike.
Why oak and sisal
Solid oak gives the weight that keeps a scratcher from tipping when a cat throws itself at it, and the sisal rope is the texture cats actually want to work. The natural oak limbs mean the grain and shape vary from one to the next, which is the point.
It is one of the tallest, heaviest posts in the range, made for households with more than one cat.
