Oak splits as it seasons. Rather than hide it, this piece fills those seams with black epoxy so they read as deliberate lines through the grain. The base is a full 5cm thick and sits on five adjustable legs.

At 81cm it is tall enough for a big cat to stretch out fully, which is the whole point of a vertical post and the thing most short ones get wrong.
